Welcome to the Alberta Q3 Judge Conference!

This is an entirely in-person conference with no online option. Sentry Box Cards has been kind enough to host us once again; this venue has historically treated us very well, and I am very grateful for their support.

This conference will serve as a stepping stone towards working on events as a team. The goal is to aid judges looking to develop skills further than judging events locally and by themselves. As such, this conference will focus on working with a team, as well as developing some soft skills.

We now have sponsorship! This conference will be foil supported as per the JudgeAcademy (JA) guidelines for sponsorship. Any JA certified in-region judge will be eligible for foil compensation, and out-of-region judges will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. If you do not meet the sponsorship requirements, please still apply as you are welcome to attend!

At this moment, venue logistics limit us to only one track, however, I will explore potential options to enable more presentation options. At the moment, there is a cap of 50 Attendees.

The application deadline for presenters is Thursday, August 31st. The application deadline for attendees is Thursday, September 21st.

Tentative schedule (Times are in Mountain time):

15:00-15:30: Come by early and hang out! This is a great time to mingle, play some Judge Tower, constructed, or just hang out. This is not a required portion of the conference.

Introduction: 15:30-15:40

Brandon Welch: 17:00-17:50

Isaac King: 17:55-18:45

Brook Gardner-Durbin:: 17:55-18:45

Elaine Cao: 18:50-20:05

Wrap-up/Debrief: 20:05-20:15

If you are applying to present, please indicate what you would like to present on in your cover letter. Please also indicate whether or not you are unable to attend the entire duration of the conference, whether that be a result of travel or being a part of the setup team for the F2F Regional Championship.
