We are looking for a positive and upbeat judge team to help support us with running Australia’s first ever command fest. The event is a sellout, so we are expecting a fantastic weekend ahead of us all. Our number one priority is providing a positive and exciting experience for all participants, and are looking for judges who are keen to provide a friendly, welcoming atmosphere to players in the event. Judges will be expected to give rulings and help ensure games of Commander and limited run smoothly, to help keep the room tidy, and to assist with other logistics tasks as needed on the day (including handling promos and event checklists if needed).
To run the event we are looking for a judge manager and a scorekeeper each day and a team of judges to help us run our events, split across two shifts per day. We are looking for a range of judge skills and experience each day, and encourage you to apply if you are keen to participate. For each day, we are looking at a team that will consist of:
Full day (counts as 2 shifts):
1x Judge Manager
1x Scorekeeper
Morning shift:
9am-5pm
6x judges
Afternoon shift:
12pm-8pm
4x judges
Compensation per shift will consist of:
1x Baldur’s Gate Draft booster display OR Set booster display
1x Draft Entry OR Convention Playmat
Judges will also receive a set of Promotional cards as long as they judge at least one shift [1 x Sol Ring Foil, 1 x Path of Ancestry non-foil, 1 x Path of Ancestry Foil]. If supplies of these limited promos allow, we will look to supply a set per shift worked, but this may not be possible. Draft entry (obviously) can’t be used while on shift, but it can be used before or after their shift. Judges are able to access the event the entire day of their shift to play as much commander as they like 🙂
There will be a judge conference arranged for Friday the 24th which I hope you will also be able to attend.
