Welcome to GothCon 2023. Mindstage will as tradition dictate organize a massive Magicfest on the convention and we hope you will aid us in making it a true marvell.
First off, pleas notice that we are changing venue from the usual one. This is a decision from the overall convention organizer and not of our doing. This might affect your planning for accomendations and travel scheduele…. but not a lot since we are in the same area. Just a bit further down the road.
GothCon features a mix of turnaments, ranging throu most formats and REL levels. We hope this will create gret oppertunitys for wide ranges of experience.
We are looking for staff for all events thursday until sunday. Thursday and sunday will be from start to finish while friday and saturday is cut into two shifts. There is a possability to have a splitt shift if you want to be free during the day. Pleas let us know if this is an option for you.
Compensation will be 800 store kredit at Mindstage. If you wish to take on the responsabilitys of HJ during a day you will recieve a bonus on top of the base comp.
HJ responsabilitys: as a HJ you will maintain the workload during the day. This includes making sure all the events are staffed, planning breaks and so on. You are expected to look for feedback to the judges working with you throu the day and be the support when weird things happens.
HJ is appointed for the whole day. That is two shifts.
We are looking for the following:
Thursday 17:30 – closing (aprox 24:00): 1 judge
Friday morning 08:45 – 16:00: 1 Hj, 2 judges
Friday evening 16:00 – closing (aprox 24:00): 1HJ, 2 judges
Saturday morning 08:45 – 16:00: 1 HJ, 3 judges
Saturday evening 16:00 – closing 1 HJ, 2 judges
Sunday 08:45 – closing (aprox 15:00) 1 judge
All shifts includes a lunch break and a shorter break. We expect you to take them 🙂
We will have a microwave and coffe on the site if you want to bring something to heat and eat. We are looking into fixing a refigerator but not sure about that yet. There will be some snacks tho so pleas let us know what you prefer.
We do also have acces to some basic sleeping accomendations if needed. Space to sleep but no kitchen. This is not the venu so no need to fret.
Staff fun. We want you to have fun during the weekend. We will try to come upp with some random weirdness to during the days, if you have any idea pleas bring it forward and we will try to male it work. We would also lile to invite you to a staff dinner on sunday. Food and drink will be at our own but we will be throwing in some free draft.
