The soft skills workshop will focus on investigations and will require the judges to be in groups of 5-7, with 1-2 facilitators for each group.

Each group will role-play through the same investigation scenario, the details, and information for which are prepared by the organizer. One facilitator will act as the player being investigated, and if available, the other facilitator will either portray player B, or they will act as a bystander/witness.

The objective for each group is as follows:

  1. Infer what most likely happened given the circumstances
  2. Come up with a final ruling based on the information at hand and the JAR
  3. Discuss the relevant IPG rulings if the situation were run in comp REL
  4. Talk about the differences between JAR and Comp REL and the need for leniency

At the end of the discussion, the groups will each be asked to present their findings in a guided discussion/forum.

After everything, each participant will answer a form, rating the performance of their groupmates and their assigned facilitator.

This will serve as the attendance for the event, and participants are expected to maintain a certain score to qualify for conference support.

If you have any questions, please reach out to me or Red Bartolome.
