**Please note that this is an in-person event**

We have officially reached our attendance cap for this venue, so I have closed the application window.

This conference is all about TRANSFERABLE SKILLS. The particular skills that we will focus on in this conference are needed in our role as judges, and also have far-reaching implications in other areas of our personal or professional lives.

Until this point, we’ve heard a lot from judges on very judge-specific topics, but for this one, we’re shaking it up a little bit. We’ve found some subject matter experts in the greater Pittsburgh community, largely outside the Judge community, who are familiar with Magic the Gathering and are willing to come speak to us about these topics. You won’t want to miss this!

Judges from any geographic location are welcome to apply, but priority will be given to those who live in/around Western/Central PA, Eastern OH, and Northern WV, as the intent for the conference is to develop the local judge community.

The agenda for the event is as follows:
• Presentation 1) Considerations in Working with Kids – Josh Minyon and Craig Swanson
• Presentation 2) Communication in Large Groups – BT Gilligan
• Presentation 3) Making Judging “Work” for You – Eric Graham
• Presentation 4) Stress Management and Mindfulness – Nicole Monteleone Henderson
• Guided Discussion) Team Leadership – Kristen Weiss

This conference will be foil-supported, so we will be able to offer all L1+ participants two Q1 Promos for the 2023 cycle (TBA), as well as two promos from a previous wave (Smothering Tithe and Training Grounds are expected).
Applications will be reviewed and processed on a rolling basis, and earlier applications will be given priority. Cover letters are not required for admittance to this event due to the higher attendance cap at this venue (40).
Once we’ve reached the attendance cap with our applications, I will close the application window.

For those interested in a comfortable, stress-free stay at the Hilton Garden Inn before and/or after the event, I will be working with them to provide an offer for a reduced-rate stay for a standard two-queen room.
Options will include the night of Friday, February 10th and/or the night of Saturday, February 11th.  I will update this event with details as I receive them.
