About the Event

Welcome to the first in-person Canadian conference of 2022! This conference is a single-track, foil-supported, in-person conference with a cap of 30 attendees.

This conference will be held in-person at the University of British Columbia’s Vancouver campus. Due to technical limitations, there will not be a hybrid option.

[UPDATE Feb. 15, 2022: organized indoor gatherings are now allowed under local restrictions, so we will be proceeding in-person]

Application Deadline

Applications for attendees will close Friday, February 11 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.

Sample guiding questions for your cover letter: What do you want to learn from this conference? What would you like to see in this conference?

This cover letter does not need to be terribly long, but tell me why you want to be here!

Call for Presenters

Those who are interested in presenting, please contact Jovy Eramela via Facebook, Discord, or email with your presentation ideas by February 4. A total of four presenters will be needed for this conference.

Eligibility and Foil Support

Foil support is available for presenters and all Judge Academy certified judge (Level 1, 2, or 3) attendees. Attendees residing in BC will be prioritized if the number of applications exceeds the attendee cap.

Due to the in-person focused nature of this conference, please only apply if you are able and willing to travel to the conference location in Vancouver, BC.

As an in-person conference, packs will contain the following cards: Greater Auramancy, Omniscience, Grand Arbiter Augustin IV, Karlov of the Ghost Council

Foils will be distributed at the end of the conference day.

Event Safety Guidelines

In accordance with BC’s indoor organized gathering requirements, masks (covering nose and mouth) and proof of vaccination are mandatory in order to attend.

Residents of BC must show their BC Vaccine Card, and a piece of valid government photo ID (BC Services Card / BC driver’s license / passport / photo ID issued by another province or territory).

People from other Canadian provinces or territories must show provincial/territorial vaccine record or federal proof of vaccination, and valid government photo ID.

International visitors must show the proof of vaccination they used to enter Canada, and their passport.

This conference will be held at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver campus. Due to the nature of finding empty classrooms in universities, the exact location of the conference will be announced on the day of the conference, but it is expected to be inside the Neville Scarfe building.

Public transit to UBC is generally fast and reliable. For those who are driving, the closest parking lot is the West Parkade (2140 Lower Mall) — weekend parking rate is $10 for the entire day.

There is no venue fee for this conference.
