I am proud to announce the Western PA Mock tournament!

This is a foil supported event on May 21st from 12pm-5pm. The format will be Modern MTG. The schedule for this event is as follows:

12pm-12:30pm: Introduction, breakdown of the event and a few example judge calls

12:30pm – 4:30pm: Swiss Rounds

4:30pm – 5pm: Debrief, feedback forms and foil dispersion

We will be playing a mock modern MTG event that will consist of 4 rounds. Each round the floor judges will answer calls, check decks or learn how to use the Eventlink software. The players making the calls will be experienced judges who after the decision is made, will talk with the judge as to what was good, bad or ugly about the call. After each round we will have a quick overview of the calls and what happened in that round.

There are 3 different types of roles for this event. Player Presenter, Floor Judge and Player

Floor Judge: These participants will be in charge of judging the event. This role is designed for people looking to get some competitive REL experience. Or just get back into the swing of judging! Perfect for L1’s looking to advance or Rules Advisors getting some experience to become L1’s.

Player Presenter: These participants will be experienced judges in CREL. They will be the ones who make the calls and discuss how the call went after the floor judge is done. Give tips on what could be better or what they would have done. This is a presenter position.

Player: These participants will be in the event and not judging. Perfect for people looking to get some experience of a CREL by seeing it happen. This will also help the event feel more like a real tournament is going on. You will need to be a L1+ Judge to receive foils for this role. This is NOT a presenter position.

If you are interested please fill out this form in addition to the form on Judge academy: https://forms.gle/ig2JXCvfE7vyYhPy8
