A deviation is a ruling that is consciously different from the document’s prescribed remedy to a given situation. These happen very rarely, and only occur in significant and exceptional circumstances or in situations that have no applicable philosophy for guidance.
This module will help you understand:
- When and why deviations may occur
- How to recognize when one may be appropriate
- The elements of a deviation
- How to follow through with the ruling
Despite the rarity of these situations, this is important information in your judging toolkit!
