Welcome to the Nova Scotia Judge Conference! This event will take place at HFX Games and Collectibles on April 23, 2023, hosted by Jon Goud and Elaine Cao.
Objectives and structure
Our objective is to help grow a geographically disperse, underserved judge community. We hope to use this conference to grow existing talent and inspire new judges to help serve their local communities.
We expect this conference to be more informal than most, given the small number and specific community needs. There will be a workshop and there will be some lecture/discussion, but the focus is to have an opportunity to ask questions and learn individually from the wider pool of knowledge.
There will be a lunch break.
Attendees should expect to stay for the duration of the conference unless there are exceptional circumstances. The current exact start and end times are still being worked on.
Presenters
Presenters are currently TBA. In addition to local talent, other experienced judges from central Canada will be flying in to help deliver the best conference possible.
If you would like to present, please contact the organizer individually.
Foil support
Foil support is available to all Judge Academy-certified judges in good standing at Level 1 or higher. Community members who are not currently certified judges are welcome to attend, but will not be officially given Judge Academy foils. (There may be, informally, some other goodies for uncertified judges.)
Foil support is extremely limited (we have received support for 15 attendees, the lowest number possible). We expect to be able to accommodate the expected number of Judge Academy-certified judges, but in case we are not and you believe you should be given priority, cover letters are welcome.
