Channel Fireball is excited to invite you to apply to join us as an admin staffmember for the upcoming Players Tour Finals, which will be held on MTG Arena!

Please be sure to read the entire application carefully before applying.

Expectations

If selected to work as an admin, you will need to be available for the full shift length for 2 days (there will be 7 rounds of Swiss on both Saturday and Sunday), and will be required to have access to stable Internet, a computer, Magic Arena access, and have moderate familiarity with Discord and other platforms that are used to run online tournaments. Your primary responsibilities will be to monitor results as they come in from matches and handle disputes between players if results have been submitted incorrectly, provide players with information on what is expected from them, and generally keep the event running at a smooth pace. Additionally you may need to interface with players if they become disconnected during a game, or if an investigation in an ongoing issue is required.

The shifts are as follows (all times in PDT):

Event Start of Shift (PDT) End of Shift
Players Tour Finals Saturday  8:30 AM (08:30) PDT  End of Round 7
Players Tour Finals Sunday  8:30 AM (08:30) PDT End of Round 7

We will be running this tournament using Magic Arena.  Please remember, we will be adapting to new challenges as we progress with this tournament series, your flexibility and ability to quickly shift gears or learn new things is paramount.

Compensation

Staff members will receive 500 USD for the weekend. All payments will be processed via PayPal at the start of the next week.

Application Process

Please make sure to answer the questions in a concise yet informative way. While life stories can be very entertaining to read, since we will be on a short time-frame to get applications processed, bullet points might be the better way to go. Language skills are especially important for an event like this, so certainly don’t forget to put them in the application.

We will be running on a pretty tight turnaround for staff selection, so the application process will end by Friday 10th of July, with staff being selected over the weekend of the 11th and 12th.
