Cascade Games is running Magic: the Gathering events at San Diego Comic Con from July 20-July 23, 2023. We’re looking for customer-focused people to run tournaments, learn to play events, prize wall, and registration. For any customer service role, you do not need to be a certified judge. For a judging role, a Judge Academy Level 1 or higher certification is preferred.
Due to the scare supply of hotel rooms (all the hotels a reasonable distance from the show are full) this event this event is appropriate for local area staff or judges who have already booked their own hotel. Judges from outside the area are not encouraged to apply unless they have their own plan for housing.
Per SDCC policies vaccination and masks are strongly encouraged for all staff but not required.

- No longer than 8 hour shifts
- We will be as flexible as possible for staff who want specific days off to attend the convention. You DO NOT need to work all the days of the how however we need people who can work either Friday or Saturday.
We have a short application window but will be accepting folks on a rolling basis to allow time for people to make necessary travel arrangements.
A bit of legal text:
For this event you will be hired as a W-2 employee. As a condition of employment for this event all staff will be required to fill out an income tax form (W-4), proof of employment eligibility (I-9), and the employee agreement form. We will send you a form W2 for your taxes at end of the year. Payments will be sent after the event (if you need payment sooner, talk with the staffing team to arrange an advance).
