New Capenna Round Table

Welcome to the Family.

This is the set conference for Streets of New Capenna, to be held on May 7, 1-6 pm via Discord. Judges are considered pillars of their community, and this conference focuses on how we highlight our roles as champions of our local Magic communities in and out of our LGSs.

The consiglieres (presenters) for this conference will each discuss strategies and best practices for engaging new players and building and promoting a healthy Magic community, and the challenges that this entails coming out of a pandemic where players will experience playing paper Magic for the first time in a moderated forum.

Participation

The conference is focused on the local community and will only accept applications from judges from the Philippines. 

Participants must submit a cover letter detailing why they want to be a part of this event and what face-to-face Magic means for them in a “post-COVID” world. Non-compliance with this requirement will 86 your application. The deadline for applications is April 30th.

Max Capacity: 50 participants.

During the conference, a workshop for devising a cohesive community-building strategy will be held. Participants are expected to give their full attention or risk their foils being put on ice. The goals of the workshop entail but are not limited to:

• How do I encourage new players to be a part of their LGS community?
• How do I build connections with my LGS and ensure that I score for judging?
• How do I deal with troublemakers in the community?
• How do I provide the best possible experience at an event to players to keep them coming back for more?

Each group will be tasked with presenting their output to the table to the scrutiny of other groups as a synthesis of all points learned and to propose a general framework for establishing baseline behavior and best practices for judges in the Philippines

Foil Eligibility

Eligibility for the goods will depend on:

• Active membership status as a Judge with Judge Academy by the time of the event
• Attendance of both the Rules and Policy presentations
• One’s participation during the workshop via feedback forms as well as feedback from the presenters.
