We’re back at it again for another Pittsburgh Area Mini Conference!

Similar to our Q2 event, rather than striving for a particular “theme” for this event, we instead chose these topics for this conference with care to address some specific knowledge and skill gaps in our local judge population. We want our judges to become confident in their ability to run successful events, solve problems, and participate well in their communities… and we think attending this conference will help our judges do exactly that!

Judges from any geographic location are welcome to apply to this event, but priority will be given to those who live in/around Western/Central PA, Eastern OH, and Northern WV, as the intent for the conference is to develop the local judge community.

Here’s our lineup:

  • Presentation 1: Competitive REL Limited Events – Joshua Hudson
  • Presentation 2: Tournament Software – Charles Johnson
  • Presentation 3: Copy Effects Deep Dive – Brad Saunders
  • Presentation 4: Judges as Pillars of the Community – Carleigh Young
  • Guided Discussion: Judging Commander – Andrew Jones

This conference will be foil-supported by Judge Academy.  We will be able to offer all L1+ participants two Q3 Promos for the 2023 cycle (TBD), as well as two promos from a previous wave (expected are Painter’s Servant and Mycosynth Lattice).

Judge Academy unfortunately was only able to approve 25 attendees for this event (of the initially requested 40), so cover letters will be required, and applications are going to be reviewed all at once three weeks before the event, rather than on a rolling basis as previously discussed.  If you have extenuating circumstances (i.e. work, travel planning, etc.) that would require an admission decision earlier than the three week window, please include that information in your cover letter for consideration and I will reach out with any questions.

If you are interested in applying for this event, please make sure you are logged in to do so.

Accurate information is the responsibility of the tournament organizer for each of their respective events. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the organizer directly.
