SoCal Judges Presents 

And Now for Something Completely Different…

This event has two goals.  The first is to provide some informative content in a very unique and different style than the standard presentations. The second is to have some mandatory fun and networking between sessions.

This event will be foil supported.

The conference will be roughly 5 to 6 hours with the following schedule:

• Arrival, networking, mini master build and games (details to follow)
• Topic 1: Frank Singel – Counterfeits: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Loupe Workshop
  • 15 min extended break for games
• Topic 2: Daniel Gilison – One Night Ultimate Werejudge
  • 15 min extended break for games
• Lunch
• Topic 3: Niki Patterson Marked Cards Workshop 
  • 15 min extended break for games
• Topic 4: Brendan Taks – Judge Calls Live: Who’s the Judge Anyways?
  • 15 min extended break for games

We are striving for an interactive style of sessions that is completely different from a traditional lecture format. Each session will have very little to no screen time. 

If you are interested in presenting, please indicate so in your application. Again, we are requiring that our presentes use very little (if any) screentime. We want this to be an interactive and hands-on experience for the audience and presenters.

Registration, Food, Entry, and Foil Support

All judges from the USA-West are welcome to attend.  You are also welcome to apply if you are from a different region and will be in California for the event.

The store is bringing in a food truck for the event and we are asking attendees to please support this truck for coming out. Please note any food restrictions you may have so we can forward the info onto the truck. If you would like to pay up front for a set meal, please contact us and we will provide further details when they become available

The “Mini Masters”/”Unique Sealed”  event will be played with “Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate”. If you choose to participate, the cost of entry will be $25.

Judge Academy will provide promotional foil cards to attendees if they meet the following criteria:

– Register for the conference by applying to this event.

– Be accepted to this event.

– Be a certified (Level 1 or higher) Judge with Judge Academy on the event date.

– Attend the event.

– The store will be buying packets but may require electronic payment

Rules Advisors are welcome to apply, but they will not receive foils.  Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate virtual attendance for this event.
