Maintenance Final Reminder

I’ll be posting a MUCH larger Tuesday Update later today, but since today is the last day for maintenance, I wanted to get out one last reminder as soon as possible.

Please note that if you do not complete your continuing education requirements, your membership and level will no longer be active, and you will not be considered in good standing for the July Member Mailing.

  • If you are a Level 1 that certified under Judge Academy’s system – There is nothing else you need to do. The classes mentioned were already a mandatory part of your process.
  • If you are a Level 2 or Level 3 – Once you have migrated your account and gotten your membership, there is nothing to do at this time.
  • If you are a Level 1 that brought over a Historical Level to get your membership – You need to make sure have gotten your membership, and that your classes under the Community Building Track of your L1 is completed. Those required classes are:

Fostering a Positive Environment
Encouraging Sportsmanship
Conflict Resolution
Public Speaking
Teaching Skills
Event Promotion and Marketing
Building Relationships with Local Game Stores
Demoing Magic
Building Your Judge Brand

If you received an email from Judge Apps about a Historical Level, that means that Judge Apps does not believe that you have a Judge Academy Level. This might be because you have chosen not to move your level over to Judge Academy, in which case it is a reminder that your historical level is expiring. It might be because you migrated your level from JudgeApps to Judge Academy, but have not gotten your membership yet, so you still only have a historical level, and it is giving you the same warning.

If you have migrated your level and paid for your membership, then you are all set!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. If you are an L1 and are unsure if you have completed the necessary modules, please check your profile. I woke up to over 100 emails asking “Hey, I think I did everything, but can you just check?” And it makes it very hard to triage and help those with urgent issues. If you are extremely worried that you’ve missed something, take a look at your completed courses on your profile. Make sure your level is MTG Level 1, and make sure that the classes listed above are done. If that’s the case, you are good. You can take a screenshot if it gives you comfort, but you should be all set.

As soon as I post this, I’ll be processing one last Warning Email. If you were missing something, and you complete it, there is no reason to send a followup. If you receive the email, and believe you have already completed all of the classes listed above, please email me as soon as possible at The email will warn you that it is the last day. If you are looking at an email that is a “2 week” or “7 day” warning, it is possible you have since completed those modules, or that they were sent previously with in error (a small group of false flags went out, but that has been fixed), so today’s email will have the most up to date information.

Again, if you receive the email today, that means our records show you have not completed your maintenance.
