Tuesday Update – September 24, 2019 – Laundry!

It’s Tuesday night, time for updates and laundry!

To start, I want to give you all an update on the website. We are still on track to be implemented and tested by Oct 1.  Our developers have been adding a ton of small updates, such as adding a plugins for forum posts, finalizing the sponsorship option for purchasing subscriptions, and creating the OAuth needed to verify current levels when creating an account.

On to Advancements: I wanted to take a moment to clarify some information and calm some concerns I’ve heard people express with regards to advancement. To begin, all testing will be live on Oct 1. RA and L1 testing will be available online. Level 2 and Level 3 testing will be in-person. For now, if you are interested in testing for L2, you will be able to fill out a form to request an in-person exam. Judge Academy will be contracting L2+ judges and paying them to administer those exams. For those in the middle of the Level 3 Process, we want to make this transition as smooth as possible. If you are part way through the process, you will be credited for the parts you have completed, and should not experience any additional delay.

You will need to give our Verification Committee, PEI, or Panel members access to the data they will need to continue with your process. For example, if you submitted your checklist was approved prior to Oct 1, but you will begin your PEI with Judge Academy, you will be asked to forward along your self-review and recommendations so that the PEI and Panel Interviewers can adequately evaluate you. As a reminder, once we launch, we will be looking at redefining Level 2 and Level 3. However, we are continuing the current system for L2/L3 advancement until we have an alternative in place. This means L2s and L3s leveling up in Judge Academy will be held to the same standards as those in the Legacy Program.

Judges evaluating submitted reviews, conducting PEIs/Panels, or administering Exams will be contracted and paid by Judge Academy. If you have questions about your specific situation, or need additional clarification please feel free to contact me at nicolette@judgeacademy.com.

Additional Certifications:
-TLTP will also be continuing for at least 6 months while determine how the process of advancing from L2 to L3 will be structured.
-Panel Lead certifications will continue for those still interested in leading panels for Judge Academy.
-GPHJ will be morphing into Large Tournament HJ Cert. Due to the desire to include as many judges in the process as possible, and any restructuring needed, the application process is currently set to open in January.
