With 2020 coming to a close, I wanted to start setting expectations for 2021. I’m planning on making some changes to how I interact and update you all on new things coming down the pipeline for Judge Academy.

The first change is about our weekly Tuesday Updates (like this one!). Now that the dust has settled on initial programming, there are fewer “new” things to announce each week. Additionally, without charging member renewal fees for 2021, the number and speed of new initiatives and developments that will happen will be a little slower than it was this past year. Therefore starting in January, rather than have an expectation of updates every Tuesday that may or may not contain useful content, we’re going to move to intermittent updates when there are things to announce, with a monthly email newsletter. Members will have the ability to opt-out of the newsletter emails, but my goal is to have a summary of all updates and changes in one spot for anyone who wants to keep up on changes and new announcements.

The second change will be to 2021 Office Hours – (tomorrow happens as normal!). I’ve loved hanging out with those of you who have popped in on Wednesdays for office hours. Sometimes there are tons of people and questions, other times we just hang out and chat for an hour and it’s really nice! However, with limited time and fewer resources, I really want to make sure I’m keeping up on all the work I need to accomplish in order to best serve the community. Because of this, I will be moving Official Office Hours to a monthly schedule starting in January. I’m happy to adjust the time or date as needed, but for now, my plan is to do it on the First Wednesday of each month, keeping the 9-10am and 4-5pm Pacific times that we have been using. That said, my goal is to continue to be accessible and available when you all need to chat, so I’m always happy to schedule a 1-on-1 Discord chat on those off-Wednesdays (or any day, really).
